You have missed one of the most major points in boring over interpolation, cost. It takes a lot less time to move in one axis than three axis !
Please can you send some details on your twin boring heads to produce a range of bores from 50 - 100mm (don't have to be from the same tool). We had a Widia tool in the past that worked very well using a SCMT120408 insert with a slight angle on the leading edge (15 deg approx) for through bores.
